WHAT IS IT?
Flutamide is a non steroid agent that acts as a competitive testosterone receptor inhibitor.
WHEN DO WE USE IT?
Prostate cancer: blocks the stimulatory effects of androgens on the primary tumor, as well as metastases. Leads tot he reduction of the size of the tumors/mets and this improves symptoms (such as bone pain or urinary obstruction).
