OVERVIEW
Often these patients have multiple complaints that span several organ systems. Traditionally these symptoms must include:
- Pain such as leg/neck pain
- Sexual issues such as discomfort with intercourse
- GI symptoms such as diarrhea or bloating
- Neurological symptoms
HOW DO WE TREAT IT?
Frequently scheduled visits with a primary care provider are the best way to handle a patient with somatization disorder. The purpose being to help the patient feel cared for, nurtured, and discussed new concerns.
