- Bipolar disorder with psychotic features

SUBSTANCE INDUCED CAUSES OF PSYCHOSIS
Usage/abuse of the following substances can result in psychosis:
- Stimulants: Cocaine, amphetamines
- Hallucinogens: Phencyclidine (PCP), Lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), mushrooms
- Chronic marijuana usage
- Alcohol use: both alcohol hallucinosis and alcohol withdrawal can be responsible
- Benzodiazepine withdrawal
MEDICAL CONDITIONS THAT CAUSE PSYCHOSIS
Serum value abnormalities:
- Glucose abnormalities (hypoglycemia/hyperglycemia)
- Low vitamin B-12
- Low folate
Endocrine disorders:
Hepatic/renal disorders:
- Wilson disease
- Hepatic encephalopathy
- Uremic encephalopathy
Infectious disorders:
- Syphilis
- HIV/AIDS
- Lyme disease
Other conditions:
MEDICATION INDUCED CAUSES OF PSYCHOSIS
Usage of the following mediations can result in psychosis:
- Corticosteroids
- Dopamine agonists
- Antiemetics
- Anticholinergics
