The anterior tibial artery is a branch from the popliteal artery

Aorta → Common Iliac External Iliac Common Femoral → Superficial Femoral Popliteal → Anterior Tibial Artery

This artery eventually becomes the dorsalis pedis artery of the foot.

FUNCTION

This artery carries blood to the anterior compartment of the leg and the dorsum of the foot.
